Online therapy or App in occupational therapy- Need of time.

As of the most recent report, the number of internet users worldwide was 3.58 billion in 2017, up from 3.39 billion in the previous year.
Easier access to computers, the modernization of countries around the world and increased utilization of smartphones has given people the opportunity to use the internet more frequently and with more convenience. [1]

We all know that the number of smartphone users is increasing. The number of Smartphone users is forecast to grow from 2.1 billion in 2016 to around 2.5 billion in 2019. Just over 36 percent of the world’s population is projected to use a Smartphone by 2018, up from about 10 percent in 2011. [2]

People are using the internet on smartphones for various reasons, from chatting to searching for things. Nowadays, people started using internet/apps for gaining access to health/therapy advice online.

Just reading the articles on the net is not sufficient, each and every individual has different problems or a combination of issues. So health/therapy articles are good for gaining general awareness or treatment but it’s always recommended that person should consult a therapist for his/her issues.

People may want to access the therapist without going to the therapy center, they may want to consult their therapist but they have to take an appointment.

Online Occupational therapy Expert App-

Unfortunately, there is a single online website/app which provides an online occupational therapy consultation.

We also want to develop some online app (Specifically for occupational therapy) for the person to easily reach out to the therapist. We hope some therapist or company may initiate to make an online Occupational therapy App.

The Online app is to provide more people with convenient access to a licensed therapist who can help those in needs to live a happier and independent life.

OT app can be focused on mental health activities, pediatric activities, cognitive and perceptual activities, and ADL activities. Simple videos based on common activities can be helpful for the client.

Benefits of online therapy

  • A good option for the people of remote place
  • Easy accessibility
  • Safe and confidential
  • Convenience and affordability.
  1. PrestoExperts.com-

This website provides an online Occupational therapy consultation. But they are not specifically providing therapy or health-related advice, they have more than 600 categories. They have chat/email/phone option available to connect to the client.

They have therapists who can guide the therapy but the numbers of occupational therapists available are few. And I have found that other experts can also guide you about occupational therapy.

But some therapists are good and you can try them if you need.

Visit them- PrestoExperts.com

We need to create a specific therapy related app or website for clients who can get advice from licensed and genuine OT experts. For this, we have to look toward to the well-established app for online therapy. We are very impressed with one online therapy (not occupational therapy) provider who is providing only therapy related consultation for the clients. Let’s have a look at this website.

2. Talkspace.com-

This website/App connects users with licensed professionals. Users can talk/chat with the therapist and therapists try to solve the current issue. As its highly secured app that keeps your chat secret.

An online therapy website and the app creates an option for traditional therapy. A professional licensed therapist guides clients.

They have more than 1000 licensed therapists who commonly provide therapy for conditions like depression, anxiety, Addiction, eating disorder, PTSD and relationship.

Traditional therapy is the best option available but the online app is creating a space for the client to talk with experts.

A person doesn’t have to wait for his/her appointment. They have to just open their app and start texting with their therapist on any day at any time.

A therapist usually responds 1-2 times per day. A Client can schedule a video chat.

Visit them- TalkSpace.com

We hope someday a good occupational therapy app will help a person to reach out to the therapist easily.

If you know any company or therapist who provides online therapy, please tell us by commenting below.
